We asked Michele a few questions to learn more about what’s alive in her practice (and life) at present.
Wild Hearts: What's up in your practice right now?
Michele: There are a couple of newer things. Last year, I received my Stott Pilates Mat and Reformer Certification. I have done a lot of training in the past, but wanted to do one very thorough training to enhance private and one on one work. I also try to incorporate some movement either before or after a bodywork session that might have some therapeutic benefit to the clients needs.
The other thing that is going on in my practice is that I am about to start billing insurance. I just signed my contract for Blue Cross Blue Shield and am waiting to hear from Pacific Source. I sent my credentials in 2 months ago, so I should hear from them soon. I can also bill car insurance. And then, of course, transitioning some of my bodywork and teaching Pilates to Wild Hearts.
WH: The theme at the studio for May is the energy of the Mother. We are honoring mothers and the big energy of Mother Earth that gives life, nurtures and protects. How is this energy alive in your life right now?
M: I have a couple of things that came to my mind. First, I do a lot of dog walking, and besides the sun and the warmth, I am absolutely loving all the spring flowers, smells and colors and Irises, my favorite flowers, are starting to bloom.
Also, my birthday is in May and is always around or on Mother's Day, so I always think a lot of my own mother and her awesomeness. She died a few years ago, and I miss her and definitely have her more in my mind this month.
