Acupuncture For Allergies

Did you know that acupuncture can help relieve or even stop your allergy symptoms?

For those who suffer from seasonal or year-long allergies, the body’s immune system reacts to substances in the air like pollen, dust or mold entering the body by over-producing proteins in the blood called antibodies which release natural chemicals called histamines to protect you.

Stimulating acupuncture points in specific areas of the body can help to balance the immune system. This reduces the amount of histamine in the body, decreasing or eliminating symptoms.

Another way that acupuncture can help balance the immune system is by relieving pain and stress—which are also related to histamine response—so that it produces fewer histamines and therefore less of those bothersome symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, stuffy head, sneezing and fatigue.

Acupuncture is even recognized by the World Health Organization and other research studies for being an effective treatment for allergies (also known as allergic rhinitis).
