Moving Energy with Qigong - Transitioning from Winter to Spring with Rose Allen

This series will provide you with an understanding of the ancient healing art of Qigong/Chi Kung. As a self-empowering practice, attendees will be educated on how to release tension and cultivate vital energy while creating grounding and balance. This occurs through postural awareness, and the repetition of simple movements combined with relaxed breath and intention. The concepts of Yin & Yang and Five Elements Theory will be introduced. The practice is also beneficial for those wishing to improve their abilities in other physical activities. Over the course of this series, you will learn some gentle warm-up exercises, several simple forms, and a Standing Meditation, a powerful way to build energy and mind focus. These can be used in a personal practice, supported by descriptive handouts. Our focus will be on transitioning from Winter/Kidney to Spring/Liver. All levels welcome; classes can be done from a seated position.

About Rose : My life changed direction in 2005, when I was first introduced to the healing practice of Qigong. Enamored with this ancient art of self-cultivation, I was inspired to become a Certified Instructor. Many classes in various modalities served to expand, support, and round out my energy practice. My curiosity and fascination with this healing art has created an exploration down an endless path of discovery as I continue the ever-deepening of my own practice. My passion is to share it with you!
